PROJECTS

A selection of projects we have completed for clients.

Primrose Premier Wall Trellis

In this project, I have successfully implemented a privacy solution in the garden by utilizing primrose primer wall trellis. Additionally, I have constructed a durable concrete bedding to support the growth of climbing roses and shrubs..

Beauty of nature

Prior to painting an exterior wall, it is essential to properly prepare the surface by meticulously cleaning it to eliminate any dirt, grease, or other impurities using a firm brush. This will ensure optimal adhesion of the paint.

Additionally, any cracks or holes should be filled with a high-quality exterior filler. In the case of a powdery surface, it is recommended to brush it down and apply a masonry stabilizing solution for treatment.

Indian natural stone

In this project, I renovated the pathway using Indian natural stone. I used white stone for the border decoration and added brown mulch to create a contrast between the white and dark brown elements.

How We Work

Work Process

01

If you were making a movie, this part of the process would be writing the core of the story told by the film

I strategically analyze the emotions I aim to elicit from the final garden, followed by an evaluation of unchangeable elements such as sky visibility, trees, boundaries, and structures. Subsequently, I mentally construct these components into simulated environments, exploring the resulting emotions and sightlines, envisioning the journey through the garden across different seasons. I adjust these mental constructs until the garden successfully evokes the intended emotions – akin to crafting and exploring a personal sanctuary.

02

If making a movie, this would be the time to write the script, cast the actors, source the locations, build the sets etc

The following section is dedicated to a thorough, systematic, and detailed analysis, involving a comprehensive examination of the image from various angles and then working in reverse to determine the necessary components on the ground to replicate the same location in real life. This phase typically requires several months of research and strategic planning, akin to compiling a detailed inventory for constructing an authentic replica of a place I have yet to visit. Upon completion of this process, a scaled blueprint of the new garden is produced, with all plants and features meticulously outlined. Once the scaled blueprint is finalized, making minor adjustments becomes impractical, as the design elements are intricately intertwined and interdependent.

03

If making a movie, this is the actual filming stage, where the director is obsessing about apparently inconsequential details, no-one knows what he’s talking about and the actors walk off set after thirty three takes and no lunch.

The next part of the process is actually building the garden on the ground, which requires lots of organising, planning, lugging, digging and determination to turn a scale plan on paper into a scaled up reality on the ground.  This is also the stage to actually source or grow the plants.  The planting part of the process usually involves me stomping about with a clipboard, talking to myself, pacing about a lot, waving garden canes and string all over the place and meticulously positioning what look like dead sticks all over what looks like a field of mud, which is unfortunate as this is also the first time that the project’s existence becomes apparent to anyone else!

04

If making a movie, its finally time for the popcorn!

After approximately twelve months, the fresh garden begins to reveal its true hues, and the only remaining tasks are to cultivate, trim, and leisurely stroll through while observing the spectacle!
